Patrick Wojahn is an American politician who serves as the mayor of College Park, Maryland. He was born on September 25, 1973, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wojahn earned a Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies from the University of Kansas and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Wojahn was first elected to the College Park City Council in 2007 and served as mayor pro tem from 2011 to 2013. He was elected as the mayor of College Park in 2015 and was re-elected in 2019.
As mayor, Wojahn has focused on economic development, sustainability, and public safety. He has been involved in several initiatives to promote green infrastructure and renewable energy in the city. He has also worked to improve relations between the city and the University of Maryland, College Park, which is located within the city limits.
Wojahn is openly gay and has been a strong advocate for LGBTQ rights. He was instrumental in passing a city ordinance in 2014 that banned discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation in College Park.
In addition to his political career, Wojahn has worked as an attorney and environmental policy consultant. He serves on the board of directors for several organizations, including the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the Maryland Municipal League.
